Author’s Note
This series of stories — “Psychological Education” — aims at three main objectives:
Raising the child’s psychological and social awareness
This is done through the story, with the help of parents, teachers in class, or even a social or psychological counselor in schools and institutions concerned with children’s affairs.
Helping the Arab community with proper upbringing
The goal is to raise awareness about certain ideas that parents might teach their children in the wrong way.
Encouraging Arab children to read Arabic stories
Whether by reading themselves or listening to their parents or teachers narrate the stories in school. During reading, children can also learn new words and vocabulary.
Where and How to Use This Book
At home:
Parents can read the series in the living room with their child or in the child’s bedroom, as a bedtime story.
At school:
Teachers can use the book in a group setting, where each student has their own story. The teacher reads the text while helping students with reading.
It is recommended that the session takes place in the school library, where students sit in a circle and listen to the teacher’s explanations.
In a psychological/social counseling office:
Through a game, the psychologist or social counselor can use the book, explaining each word and picture to the child
Each of us has a true friend. But there are children who feel lonely and have no friends. I tell them:
"Look for this friend, because he is also looking for you. And don’t forget to smile."
The goal of this story is to explain the feeling of loneliness to the child and to show how to replace it with positive emotions.
